September 22nd can be a dodgy day, weather-wise, but the Family Fun Day, organised by the well-known GAA club Liffey Gaels at their grounds and clubhouse, was a day to remember. Not only was the weather fantastic, but the “craic” and stalls, the fun and games, had something to appeal to all ages.
They organise this event annually, and you will see from the pictures that the locals turned out in their hundreds to avail of freshly baked cakes and to enjoy a great barbeque, as well as have fun on the field.
The local radio station added a great atmosphere with their live broadcasting and interviews with the attendees.
I only hope that they made thousands of euro, as it is hard work and it is all done by volunteers! Take a look at their website and do drop in for a chat or pint next time you’re passing by.
