Congratulations to the Local Community Groups who
worked so hard with their sponsors, Dublin City Council, to bring this years
Parade and events to a most successful conclusion again this year.
Not only was The Health and Wellbeing morning
enjoyed by all but the magnificent and colourful parade had to be the most
spectacular parade that has ever been seen in Cherry Orchard.
Of course Art was not neglected as the Ballyfermot
Social Intervention Initiative organized a competition in the Orchard
The Equine Centre also played it's part with Pony
rides and Pony club games as did the footballers, with the final of the Futsol
tournament and the Gardai and Dublin Fire Brigade personal joined in the fun
with the locals in another football match.
The kids had their own Pyjama Disco in the Orchard
Centre and the Festival came to an end with a Family Fun Day.
Special thanks to all those who volunteered
throughout the Festival and especially the Local Community Groups. A special
thanks must go to Te Cherry Orchard Integrated Youth Services, Equine
Centre,WHAD (We Had A Dream) The Base, Magic, The Orchard Centre, The Bungalow,
BSII, FAI, Dublin City Council, The Defence Forces The Garda Siochana, the Civil
Defence and St. Ultan's School.
