Eid Comes to Crumlin

Crumlin

After a hard month of fasting during the Ramadan, there comes a major celebration and festivities to celebrate the ending of the fast. Ireland's growing Muslim population again this year chose to celebrate their Eid Mubarak in the heart of Dublin South Central, by coming together in The Transport Club, Clogher Road, Crumlin.

Not unlike other festivals there were BBQs, Bouncy Castles, Table Tennis, Face Painting and loads of other events, not least of which was the indoor Puppet Show.

The event was organised by the Islamic Foundation of Ireland, ably supervised by the popular Administrator Mudafar Al Tawash. It was nice to see the invited guests and local neighbours mixing and making the event a worthwhile annual event of friendship and celebration.

It was my great pleasure to meet with Yahya M Al-Hussein, the Imam of the Mosque Atha Cliath with his daughter, whose Dublin accent nearly floored me.

I thoroughly enjoyed the celebration.

The photos below give testament to the happiness and enjoyment by all who attended.
