It is always a great pleasure to be invited by the Loreto Centre, Crumlin, to see them display the work of their participants in their “Adult Community Education Centre” activities.
Everybody in Crumlin knows that one of the few Youth Clubs providing a service for the local kids was provided by Fr. Alan Mowles, a Salesian Father, whose Dublin home is in the heart of Crumlin on Saint Teresa’s Road.
Some of the nicer things about being a politician are on the occasions that your asked to “officially” open some event or other.
On Wednesday the 21st of March 2012, I had the pleasure of visiting the Loreto Senior Girls Primary School along with my colleagues Catherine Byrne T.D. and the Minister for Education & Skills Ruairi Quinn T.D.
As we all know now the proposed building of the new National Paediatric Children's Hospital at the Mater site has been put on hold due to planning difficulties.
It is in my view it vitally important that we pause to take stock of how best to procede now in order to ensure that we provide future generations of Irish children the best possible medical care .
There has been some talk of revising the proposal for the Mater site in order to make it fit in with planning requirements.
