Walkinstown Residents Association Still the Salt of the Earth

It is quite amazing that a Residents Association can still be active after so many years. I understand that the Walkinstown Residents Association is the longest serving Residents Association in Ireland (but I’m open to correction).

Its AGMs may not be attended by the huge numbers that attended in the past, when there was standing room only at the AGMs held in the Walkinstown Library. But the heart is still strong.

One of the surviving, beautiful traditions, is to award residents who make an effort to keep their gardens prim and proper with prizes and trophies. Congratulations to all the winners on the night but also to all those that participated. Better luck next year...

We invariably, as elected Public Representatives, are invited to the award ceremony. This year it was again held in the re-opened Kestrel Pub Walkinstown.

As usual, the hospitality was traditional as the beer flowed and we all joined in to acclaim our gardeners extraordinaire. Great people enjoying the night. See pictures.
