The 2015 AGM of the Walkinstown Residents Association took place in the Moeran Road Hall, Walkinstown.
This was the 66th AGM of one of Dublin’s oldest Residents Associations, and while the numbers of residents attending has fallen over the years, the hard-core of community activists are still showing up and playing their part.
It was therefore sad to reflect on the passing of former members who played such an active part within their community. It was also particularly sad that the outgoing Chairperson, Mary Thomas, decided not to seek re-election. Mary was a Trojan worker and a hugely important link between the Association and its members. She will be badly missed.
But the Residents Association continues to exist, and elected a newcomer to the area to lead the Association for the next 12 months. We all welcome on board Mr. Shane Lanigan, who is a young energetic Chairman in whom lots of trust have been placed, and hopes have been extended to help him in his new office.
Below are some images of the new and outgoing Committee.
