It was a long time coming, but in the end it was worth waiting for… The magnificent Bluebell Community and Youth Services building has been officially opened by the Lord Mayor of Dublin and now stands as a truly wonderful facility for the local residents and adjoining communities.
On Wednesday the 21st of March 2012, I had the pleasure of visiting the Loreto Senior Girls Primary School along with my colleagues Catherine Byrne T.D. and the Minister for Education & Skills Ruairi Quinn T.D.
As we all know now the proposed building of the new National Paediatric Children's Hospital at the Mater site has been put on hold due to planning difficulties.
It is in my view it vitally important that we pause to take stock of how best to procede now in order to ensure that we provide future generations of Irish children the best possible medical care .
There has been some talk of revising the proposal for the Mater site in order to make it fit in with planning requirements.
There are great things happening in Ballyfermot. Not only are there about 10 community childcare crèches, but the highly trained workers in all these facilities took on the extra burden to further educate themselves, in order to provide the children with an even better educational experience.
